Events & Tickets

We're looking forward to making you a part of our One World Singers family!

Oedipus Tex POSTPONED

With reluctance, the OWS Board has determined it is best to postpone our Oedipus Tex Cabaret, date to be determined.  We will be holding this event in the future, so if you have purchased tickets and would still like to attend, please just hold on to them.  However, if you would like a refund, we are happy to provide that — details on how to receive it are being worked out, so please check back.

We’re all very disappointed not to be able to bring this fun cabaret to you as scheduled, but we promise that when it does arrive, it will be just as fun-filled and exciting!

Put on your boots & spurs and join the One World Singers for a fun concert featuring P.D.Q. Bach’s Oedipus Tex.  You know the story — boy is abandoned at birth, and the prophesy says he’ll kill his father and marry his mother and all ends in TRAGEDY!  But this time it all takes place in the wild west with lots of laughs along the way.

P.D.Q. Bach biography: The last and oddest of J.S. Bach’s 20-odd children, P.D.Q. Bach began his musical career in obscurity and embarked upon an unsteady march into utter oblivion. He spent most of his adult life in the small German town of Wein-am-Rhein. It was a village virtually bereft of culture, a situation that was not improved by P.D.Q. Bach’s presence. The composer did occasionally encounter and steal ideas from local folk groups, such as Tommy Mann and his Magic Mountain Boys, for whom he wrote his Bluegrass Cantata.

We’ll also treat you to cabaret numbers by various OWS groups including Crazy, the Cow-cow Boogie, Daddy Sang Bass, I Will Always Love You, Forever Country, Don’t Fence Me In, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Maverick and, of course, Happy Trails.  Light refreshments and munchies will be served.

Get your tickets now for a fun cabaret experience!  Adults, $20 each, children 12 and under free.

Featuring Mudra Dance Studio, Fiesta Colorado, The Lost Tribe (Jewish fusion band), the Colorado Korean Chorus, Columbine Chorale, and the host choir the One World Singers, this event invites all to “Draw the Circle Wide” and help create a Colorado where all are welcomed and celebrated.

Come enjoy the energy and diverse sounds from Coloradans of many backgrounds, and help build a world dreamed about by those such as Langston Hughes, where all “may know sweet freedom’s way.”
