One World Singers Tour of Scotland and Ireland - June, 2025

Itinerary

This wonderful tour, organized for us by Encore Tours, is a singers delight! We’ll be performing four times, three in Scotland and once in Ireland, but in between we’ll be getting to know these wonderful countries and their cultures as fully as possible!  The itinerary is listed below.  The cost of the trip is $4,929 plus airfare (airfare through Encore is $1200). There are several payment plans as well as a discount for automatic payments. A final note – this trip is not just for singers! Please feel free to join us whether you sing or not! You are welcome!

TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1, JUN 11, 2025: OVERNIGHT FLIGHT
Departure from the United States.

DAY 2, JUN 12, 2025: GLASGOW
Arrive in Glasgow and meet your Tour Manager for the transfer into the city. Discover downtown Glasgow on an orientation tour before checking in to the Voco Grand Central Glasgow Hotel, the starting point for our fabulous musical and cultural journey together! Enjoy a private welcome reception featuring traditional Scottish musicians followed by dinner. (D)

DAY 3, JUN 13, 2025: GLASGOW
A morning guided sightseeing includes entrance to St Mungo’s Cathedral, then take time to explore the city at your own pace, perhaps with a visit to the Burrell
Collection. Later today prepare for your first concert, performed jointly with a local choir at the Jordan Hill Parish Church followed by a reception with your
new Glaswegian friends! (B)

DAY 4, JUN 14, 2025: OBAN
Board your private coach and head north for the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. At Tarbet we are welcomed by the sound of bagpipes ringing around the Loch as we embark on a cruise of the famous Loch. Disembark at the jetty of Lodge on the Loch and enjoy a light lunch overlooking the water before continuing to the west coast and lovely Oban. Meet local traditional Scottish musicians for an informal evening of communal song and laughter. (B,L)

DAY 5, JUN 15, 2025: OBAN
Our day starts with our taking a picturesque ferry ride to the beautiful Isle Mull. We will traverse the island as we head to Fionnphort and a short ferry to the famed island of Iona, to visit the Abbey. Enjoy this very special place and take the opportunity for an impromptu sing at the tiny yet ever so beautiful Chapel of St. Columba. Return by ferry for an evening to explore Oban at your leisure. Day 6, Jun 16, 2025: Inverness
Take in stunning scenery as you travel along the shores of Loch Linnhe, perhaps stopping for a visit in Glencoe and on to Fort William to find lunch. Continue through the Highlands to Loch Ness and a visit of Urquhart Castle, then check in to your hotel in Inverness. This evening enjoy a very special musically themed whisky tasting with your host Bruce, one of the country’s finest fiddlers! (B)

Day 7, Jun 17, 2025: Edinburgh
Leaving Inverness, we head south toward Edinburgh through the Cairngorms National Park and via a stop to visit Stirling Castle. Check in to your hotel in Edinburgh. (B)

Day 8, Jun 18, 2025: Edinburgh
Today begins with a guided tour of the fascinating Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th century chapel that was prominently featured in the 2003 novel The DaVinci Code. It is said, that visit to Rosslyn even inspired some lines in Robert Burns famous poem, Tam O’Shanter. There will be the opportunity for a brief informal sing in this lovely setting. Return to Edinburgh for a walking tour of the Old Town and entrance to Edinburgh Castle. Later we visit Murrayside Care Home to perform for the residents, followed by a reception. (B)

Day 9, Jun 19, 2025: Edinburgh
The morning is free to explore the many sights and sounds of Edinburgh at your leisure. Later perform a joint concert at the grandest venue, St. Giles Cathedral situated right on the Royal Mile. Enjoy a reception afterwards with your hosts. (B)

Day 10, Jun 20, 2025: Dublin
A morning flight will have you in Dublin where a local guide will take you on a panoramic sightseeing tour of Dublin, including O’Connell Street, Phoenix Park, Leinster House and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Enjoy a free evening in Dublin. (B)

Day 11, Jun 21, 2025: Dublin
The morning is yours to explore Dublin at your leisure, then prepare for your final performance Christ Church Cathedral Dublin for a lunchtime concert in this fabulous venue. The cathedral was begun in 1038 by King Sitric Silkenbeard, the Danish Viking King of Dublin,  and is oficially claimed as the seat of both the Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic archbishops of Dublin. Contained in the cathedral is the reputed tomb of Strongbow, a medieval Norman-Welsh peer and warlord who came to Ireland at the request of King Diarmuid MacMorrough, and whose arrival marked the beginning of English involvement in Ireland. Tonight celebrate wonderful memories and friendships old and new at a farewell dinner. (B,D)

Day 12, Jun 22, 2025: Departure
Transfer to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
