About Us

Harmony Through music!

One World Singers is a historical community chorus in the Denver Metropolitan area.  First organized in the 1930s, we perform a wide variety of music, all with the overall goal of fostering goodwill among the people of the world.  Our mission statement says it all:

The One World Singers seeks to promote the understanding of our common humanity. The organization realizes this goal by performing choral music from diverse cultures and traditions; nurturing the musical abilities of all who wish to sing; presenting free and paid admission concerts in the local community; and touring regionally, nationally and internationally.

Those who attend our concerts are not only reated to good music, but also to camaraderie – we always provide a social hour with refreshments and conversation after concerts. We consider our audience to be a part of our community and musical family!

One World Singers is a 501(c)(3) corporation, with a dedicated group of volunteers who work hard to keep everything running smoothly. We are funded primarily through our member dues, contributions and thorugh generous support from the Science and Cultural Facilities District.

Our History

One World Singers has a long and colorful history. It grew out of the Denver Turnverein Chorus, a combination of the Rocky Mountain Women’s Chorus and the Denver Maennerchor, which joined together in 1998. Click here for  more information.

Our Directors

One World Singers is lucky to have wonderful leaders!  Our Music Director is Nick Newman, a doctoral student at the University of Northern Colorado.  Our Assistant Director and Accompanist (for over 50 years!) is Dr. Oliver Ellsworth.  Click here for more information.
